Matthew 25: 37-46

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothes you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brother and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink. I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothes me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison and did not help you?”

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.”

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Greetings Soul Cafe Souls, As you know this Sunday is a “hands to the plow” day. We will not be meeting at 11 am for worship but rather we will be worshiping with our hands. It is a community work day. I wanted to make sure everyone knew that you are needed and wanted for service. Here is the schedule: We’ll meet at 8 am for a pot luck breakfast. There will be plenty so come be a part of the fellowship. After breakfast we’ll gather up in work teams and head to our assignments. There are multiple places that are ready for your skills, talents, and labor. We need someone that can glue pvc pipe for one job. So if that sounds like you it would be great if you could join us. There will be a letter writing session in the sanctuary. There will be one team that will pick up trash along Turkey Creek. This will be our second work day so I already know how rewarding and fun it will be. See you at breakfast !!!

Managing Difficulty

The one who loves us gives us an overwhelming victory in all these difficulties.

Accept it. Accept difficulty. Accept what’s on your plate and what’s ahead. It’s easy to run away from difficulty and to get stressed and upset when you’re facing hard times. But God equips you mentally and physically to handle difficult situations. Listen to Him. When you’re swamped with problems and high-pitched emotions, it’s time to recalibrate. God has given you great insight; don’t keep it waiting.
When you ignore or run away from your problems, you only make them worse. Instead, be quiet, accept what you’re facing, and give space to the Holy Spirit. Then you can understand the power that’s in you. It’s not you who can manage the difficult situations; it’s God in you. When you accept the difficulty and stop fighting it, you’ll feel a sense of relief. The first step is to accept the difficulty, though you may not completely understand it. From the place of acceptance, you can work out with the Lord your next steps. Accepting difficulty doesn’t negate the pain, but it strengthens you to be free from the strongholds of panic, anxiety, or uncertainty about what to do. Trust God.

Heavenly Father,
I accept the difficulty I’m facing. It’s so easy to become accustomed to seeing things negatively and not changing or growing spiritually. Help me stop putting up a struggle every time problems come at me. Show me how to accept them and give you space to lead me through them. I can’t hear you when I’m upset. Grant me peace in my soul to accept difficulty as it comes. I trust you, my Lord. Help me trust you more.
