Great Things

Psalm 126:3
The Lord has done great things for us, and we are very glad.

What have we ever done to deserve the healing touch of Jesus to our souls? Nothing!! Yet often we come to Jesus feeling pretty good about ourselves, saying, ” Hey, I’ll make a great contribution to Your team.” Hogwash! Jesus doesn’t need us on His team. And He doesn’t forgive us on the basis of what we’ve done. He forgives us on the basis of who He is.

The Confidence of Forgiveness

Psalm 86:5
Lord, You are kind and forgiving and have great love for those who call to You.

It’s never too late to get a second chance with God. It’s never too late! Think about Paul – he had been a murderer and a blasphemer. He had to look into the faces of people whose fathers he had persecuted, whose children he had killed. He could have spent his life looking at yesterday, but he didn’t do that. He started life over again in the confidence of His forgiveness.

The Most Immeasurable Gift

1 John 3:16
This is how we know what real love is:
Jesus gave His life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Amidst all the people at the crucifixion scene there is one person with whom all of us can identify. We can all relate to the crucified crook. All of us hang on the cross beside Jesus. All of us have made the most unimaginable request. And all of us who are in the body of Christ have received the most unimaginable and immeasurable gift that we could ever receive – salvation!!

Put Your Anxieties On Him

1 Peter 5:7
Give all your worries to Him, because He cares about you.

God wants you to put your anxieties on Him. Let Him do your worrying for you because He is faithful. When you read this verse, substitute your own name for the word you. Isn’t that good to hear?

50 Days of Praying God’s Promises

John 15:7
“If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.”

Jesus,
Thank you for the promise that if we remain in You, we can ask for whatever we desire and it will be done. We confess that many of our desires aren’t rooted in You. Give us eternal desires that originate in Your heart. Break our hearts with the things that break yours. Fill us with Your words that come from heaven. Pull us back when we begin to stray from Your Presence. It’s in Your mighty name we pray, Amen.

I Call You Friends

John 15:15
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from My Father.”

Jesus described for His followers what He came to do. He came to build a relationship with people. He came to take away enmity, to take away the strife, to take away the isolation that existed between God and man. Once He bridged that, once He overcame that, He said, “I will call you friends.”

The Cross Is Still There

Isaiah 26:12
Lord, all our success is because of what You have done, so give us peace.

In the midst of your busyness, the Cross is still there. In the midst of your emptiness, the Cross is still there. The promises of Jesus still stand today. You can claim peace in the midst of a hectic life – not without sacrifice or concentration, but you can do it.
